At Dex, your privacy and data security come first. We designed our system to give you full control over your information while maintaining the highest standards of encryption and compliance.

What Dex Does

Dex is an AI-powered data assistant that lets you connect your database and interact with it directly from Slack. You can ask questions, generate reports, visualizations, or export data — all in a secure environment.

Database Credentials

  • Your database credentials are end-to-end encrypted the moment you connect your database.
  • We never store your actual data or database records.
  • The system only keeps your database schema structure (tables, columns, and relationships) — this allows our AI to understand how to build SQL queries correctly.
  • Your live query results are processed in real time and never saved or reused after delivery.

AI and Model Usage

  • Our AI models are used to generate responses and queries — they do not retrain or learn from your company's data.
  • Your database content and Slack messages are not used for model training or fine-tuning.
  • Each interaction is processed securely and independently within your workspace session.

Slack Messages and History

  • Dex accesses only the Slack messages and files it needs to respond to your questions.
  • We do not permanently store Slack messages or history.
  • When you mention @Dex, the message is pulled securely through Slack's API, processed by our AI, and the response is returned — the message data is not kept on our servers.

Data Handling and Storage

  • All sensitive data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Dex uses industry-standard encryption (AES-256) and secure key management practices.
  • Our infrastructure is hosted on secure, compliant cloud providers with strict access control.

Your Control

  • You can disconnect your database or remove the app from Slack at any time.
  • When you disconnect, all associated schema information and connection details are immediately deleted from our system.
  • You can also request deletion of any residual data by contacting our support team.

Our Commitment

We believe that trust is earned through transparency. We don't sell, share, or use your data for any purpose other than providing the Dex service you choose to use.
